This open-ended kada (bracelet) is a masterwork of spiritual art, crafted to resemble burnished gold with a deep, antique patina. It serves as a wearable tribute to Lord Shiva, featuring two of the most significant symbols in Shaivism:
The Terminals: On one end of the cuff sits a finely detailed Nandi, the sacred bull and loyal mount of Shiva, depicted in a traditional seated posture. Opposite Nandi is a Shivalinga, the abstract representation of the divine, appearing as if Nandi is eternally offering his devotion across the gap.
The Band: The body of the kada is textured with a scale-like pattern, evoking the imagery of the serpent (Naga) that Shiva wears around his neck, symbolizing the mastery over ego and the cycles of time.
The Aesthetic: The metal has a matte, granulated finish that gives it an “excavated” or ancient look. It is staged alongside weathered copper coins and pottery shards, further emphasizing its connection to timeless heritage and archaeological mystery.
Symbolic Significance
Nandi (The Bull): Represents Dharma, patience, and unwavering devotion to the Divine.
Shivalinga: Represents the infinite nature of the Universe and the union of consciousness.
Snake Texture: Symbolizes rebirth, protection, and the awakening of Kundalini energy.
Circular Form: Represents the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth (Samsara).
